DEEP RAJ DUDEJA, M.D.

Dr. Dudeja is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist. He graduated from the St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1993. He completed his Ophthalmology residency at the Interfaith Medical Center in New York.  Dr. Dudeja then specialized in Cornea and Refractive Surgery with Dr Jack T. Holladay in Houston, Texas in 1998.  The following year he returned to Southern California as a cornea specialist, practicing Ophthalmology in the Orange County area for the past eleven years. He became a partner helping to start a thriving group practice in South Orange County. He moved to Fresno, California in 2004 to work at Kaiser Permanente. In April of 2006 he decided to return to Southern California to open Southern California Eyecare.
Dr. Dudeja stands out as an endearing individual who has a passionate drive to help people. He has volunteered numerous times to help local communities as well as international communities. In 2004 and 2006 he performed over 300 cataract surgeries free of charge in Calcutta and Rajasthan, India for the destitute.  In 2007, Dr. Dudeja took the opportunity to serve people in Bolivia, South America by performing cataract surgeries as well as giving educational seminars to local doctors on the latest technology and surgical techniques.  In 2008, Dr. Dudeja was part of a volunteer team which taught local Vietnamese ophthalmologists microsurgery techniques in Hue, Vietnam. In 2009, he volunteered in China by performing several cataract surgeries to give his patients the gift of sight.

CHESTER CHENG, O.D.

Dr. Chester C. Cheng is a graduate from the Southern California College of Optometry and is a new associate at Southern California Eyecare.   He is certified in the use of diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents for the treatment and management of ocular diseases including eye infections, eye allergies, glaucoma, and dry eyes.  His special interests are in low vision rehabilitation and contact lens fitting.
Dr. Cheng has participated in clinical externships in several locations, which have provided him with extensive training in ocular care.  While at the Veterans Affairs Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center and Optometric Center of Los Angeles, Dr. Cheng’s training emphasized primary eye care and ocular disease treatment. While at the Eye Care Associates of Nevada, Las Vegas, Dr. Cheng gained valuable experience in ocular disease treatment and refractive surgery management.  At The Center for the Partially Sighted in Los Angeles, Dr. Cheng worked with visually impaired patients of all ages to help them achieve successful visual independence at school, at the workplace, and at home.   He has participated actively in the community by providing screenings for children at their schools, as well as providing various glaucoma and diabetic screenings for patients of all ages.  After graduating from Optometry school, Dr. Cheng completed a residency with the Eye Care Associates of Nevada in Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada, where he received special training in eye disease detection and treatment as well as refractive surgery management. In his spare time, he enjoys caring for saltwater reef fish and corals, painting, photography, playing tennis, and travelling.
