At Southern California Eyecare we strive to bring technology to the exam room. Using technology allows us to diagnose and treat various diseases of the eye. Humphrey Visual Field Machine: Validated by more than 25 years of research, design and clinical experience, HFA is the accepted standard of care in glaucoma diagnosis and management. With over 60,000 installed units worldwide, the Humphrey Field Analyzer is the premier automated visual field perimeter. Corneal Topography: Measures the curvature of the cornea for various corneal diseases such as keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, contact lens induced damage and irregular astigmatism. Zeiss IOL Master and Accutome Immersion Ascan: With this advanced technology measurements for the implant power is easy and accurate. Zeiss Visulas YAG laser: YAG laser is used to open up capsule which has become cloudy after cataract surgery. It is also used to treat narrow angle glaucoma as well as angle closure glaucoma. Canon Digital Retina Camera: By capturing high quality digital images of the retina and the optic nerve our office can document and monitor eye diseases. Canon captures digital images at over 15.1 megapixels. Heidelberg HRT II: 3-D Optic Disc Tomography When applying the technology to glaucoma, the HRT takes data from a 3-D stack of tomographic images of the optic nerve and retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL), aligns the images and computes a 3-D topographic map of the surface of the retina. Pachymetry: This instrument measures the thickness of the cornea and and allows to adjust the intra-ocular pressure measurements in glaucoma.
